John Grinstead
John Grinstead received his PhD in Applied Linguistics from UCLA in 1998. He is a Professor of Hispanic Linguistics in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at The Ohio State University. His work primarily addresses language development in typically-developing Spanish-speaking children as well as in children with Developmental Language Disorder. His current work investigates the development of syntax, semantics, pragmatics and their interfaces with other domains of language and cognition, which has been funded by both NSF and NIH, including recent work funded by the NSF-NEH Dynamic Language Infrastructure - Documenting Endangered Languages program, on bilingual children learning Spanish and Imbabura Kichwa in Ecuador.
